Villanova Wins 2016 National Championship, In Historic Fashion

The Villanova Wildcats and North Carolina Tar Heels created what could go down as the greatest National Championship game in the history of basketball.

In a finish that dreams are made, the Tar Heels who were trailing throughout the whole game and late into the second half made a 12-3 run to cut the lead to 1 point with a minute left.

History would be made in the final 10 seconds of the game as Marcus Paige hit a ridiculous 3-pointer to tie the game with 4 seconds to go.

Then, after a time-out, Nova ran the ball up the length of the floor and it ended up in Kris Jenkins hands who made a 3-pointer at the buzzer to etch his name in college basketball immortality and lead the Wildcats to the National Championship.

This game will be talked about for days, months and years to come. Many folks who have been around basketball for a long time strongly believe that this is the greatest finish to a National Championship game, ever. It was a gutsy performance by the Tar Heels, but at the end of the day, nobody deserved it more than Nova. Check out their celebration below.
