Tracy McGrady: The NBA is ‘Watered Down’

Stephen Curry made history this week becoming the first unanimous MVP in NBA history. Most players, legends and analysts just applauded and congratulated Curry for his greatness, however, Tracy McGrady was critical of Steph’s competition as he stated that this goes to show how watered down the NBA is right now.

Again, this isn’t a shot at Steph Curry, it’s more so a criticism towards his fellow NBA superstars. McGrady played in an era with guys like Shaquille O’Neal, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, young-LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki etc. so we can see where he is coming from.

McGrady’s doing something that you’ll see a typical old fart doing in your local neighborhood barber shop. That’s going on about how things were “back in my day”. We’ve all heard it. Back in my day, we were stronger, tougher, etc. Truth is, back in his day, McGrady never got a league MVP, playoff MVP, or championship ring. He just sounds bitter because he never really lived up to his potential.
