Tracy McGrady Works Out With Kobe Bryant, Considering NBA Comeback

Former NBA scoring champion Tracy McGrady has been working out with Kobe Bryant this off-season in preparation for an NBA comeback. T-Mac last played for the San Antonio Spurs in 2013, however, he did not receive much playing time on the Spurs run to the NBA Finals against that year.

Last off-season McGrady announced his retirement from the NBA, stating that he had been mentally ejected from the game. Since his retirement, the seven-time All-Star has been an analyst for NBA TV and tried to play professional baseball.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports is reporting that McGrady worked out with Kobe Bryant three times a week for a time period in August.

Does the 35-year old T-Mac still have anything left in the tank?

Retired seven-time All-Star Tracy McGrady worked out with Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryantlate this summer in a Southern California gymnasium, testing the preparedness of his body for a possible NBA comeback attempt.

“Yes, I was working out with K.B. to get in shape and see how my body feels,” McGrady told Yahoo Sports in an email Tuesday night.

Bryant and McGrady, 35, worked out three days a week for a period of time in August, several sources, including McGrady, told Yahoo.

At least two NBA teams were contacted over the summer about their potential interest in McGrady, but none registered a desire to further explore the possibility, league executives told Yahoo Sports.
