The Top 10 Most Jacked NBA Players Of All-Time.

balldontstopAlthough basketball players aren’t usually known for carrying around a ton muscle mass or being “jacked” over the years there have been numerous lists and rankings about the most jacked players in NBA history. All of these rankings and list have been garbage.

First you must understand, most basketball players aren’t usually “jacked”, they are light and ripped. Are they big? Yes, if you are above 6-5 makes you will be mentioned as big, but there is a difference between tall and jacked. The game of basketball unlike football and hockey requires you to be running up and down the floor for 48 minutes, there is a lot more cardiovascular activity involved in the game of basketball, football is played in short spurts. Therefore basketball players burn a lot more muscle than any other athlete in the major sports in North America, which makes it harder to gain muscle mass. Basketball players don’t usually train for size.

NFL players are known for their muscular physiques, they carry around a ton of weight and are hella explosive, they do their damage in a short time span…the average NFL play lasts only 8 seconds! The NFL is a Strength-Speed sport, therefore the players a lot bigger, have more muscle mass and are explosive in short spurts, but they don’t have the conditioning level of a basketball player.

Basketball players are meant to be long, lean, they have very low body fat percentages, a lot of the players have what are referred to as “bird chests” meaning flat chests, they don’t carry around chunks of mass, which is totally understandable. Basketball players are burning so much muscle in games and practice. Basketball is a skill-finesse-strength/speed sport, there is a lot of movement in a single possession during a basketball game and it burns a ton of calories.

Basketball players need to be more hybrid, they have to do it all. They train a lot differently than any other athlete, there is a lot more emphasis on skill work such as ball handling and shooting. To this day as sad as it is, a lot of NBA players don’t seriously lift weights.

Players throughout NBA history have always had the more ripped physiques if anything, a lot of dudes in the NBA don’t have much muscle at all, You’d be surprised, a lot of NBA players can’t even bench 185 lbs, which is warm up weight for most NFL, MLB and even NHL players. Therefore you can’t just create a list of the “50 most jacked players in NBA history” because really there haven’t been 50 NBA players that are truly “jacked”….there probably haven’t even been 30!

What people don’t understand is that, NBA players are pretty light compared to NFL, NHL and even MLB players, and it is because they are focused a lot more on conditioning and skill building. A regular workout day for an NBA player in the off season may go something like this: Perform skill work in the morning for about 90 mins followed by 45 minutes of speed/agility training. Think about how many calories they’ve already burned in that much time and how much muscle they’ve burnt, that is over two hours of straight high intensity cardio. Later they’ll hit the weights, (they don’t lift too heavy)…..than they’ll play a game of pickup basketball! There is really no room to build muscle throughout the day.

Therefore, when I see a NBA player that has a ton of muscle mass its pretty impressive, it shows how genetically gifted they are and how hard they train. There have been some NBA players that are truly jacked and you will see them in the list below.

There have been a ton of lists over the years highlighting the most “jacked” players in NBA history, all of them are laughable, I once saw a list that had a 6’6, 197 lb. Ray Allen as one of the 10 most jacked players in NBA history! Another list had Greg Oden and Kevin Durant as “jacked”, it’s funny. Guys like Russell Westbrook or Rajon Rondo aren’t muscular beasts, their ripped and light.

Ask anyone who has spent serious time in a gym building size and strength, if they think this is “jacked”. NO!

You are about to see the official list of the 10 most jacked players in NBA history.

These guys below are truly muscular athletes, they have good amount of bulk, are built, they could pass as NFL players any day of the week. These guys were/are genetically gifted, they are big and carry a lot of muscle, but they also have very low body fat percentages (below 10%), they could also move extremely well laterally, jump out of the roof, had quick first steps and could rip through defenses. There weren’t many true muscular “beasts” in NBA history, but the guys below are some of the most gifted athletes in all of sports!

The True Top 10 Most Jacked NBA Players Of All-Time.

Honorable Mention: Larry Johnson

Picture 1 of 21

6-6, 250 lbs, Larry Johnson was the first beastly wing player we saw in the NBA. In his prime he was a big dude, later in his career playing for the Knicks, he kind of gained weight.

Carl Malone isn’t the N.B.A.’s 2nd leading scorer. Kobe Bryant is, I believe he’s the 4th leading scorer.

I wish Larry Johnson wouldn’t of gotten injured or Charles Barkley either. The N.B.A. needs to bring man-to-man defense back and move the 3point line either back the 30ft. Line or 40ft..
