The Elite Ball Handling Workout: Guaranteed to Improve Your Handle

Over the years we’ve been getting a lot of emails with skills training and strength & conditioning questions from basketball players, coaches and parents from all over the world, so we’ve decided to take things to the next level by introducing our new training video series.

We teamed up with our friends at 604 Hoops, a Vancouver, BC based basketball academy and movement which has built a reputation as the best skills trainers and athletic conditioning coaches for ballers in their area. In our first collaboration, “The Elite Ball Handling Workout”, we put an athlete through ONE of our many ball handling workouts.

All the drills in The Elite Ball Handling Workout are designed to take your handle, co-ordination and feel for the ball to new heights. A lot of these drills are used by some of the best basketball players in the world. You can probably catch Steph Curry doing some of these in his famous pregame warmup.

Some of these moves are challenging as is but the player performing them needs to focus on keeping their chest up (avoid hunching), eyes up, pounding the ball hard and doing each move at game speed.

For an even bigger challenge or for more advanced ball handlers, the player can close their eyes and perform each move. Do at least 10-20 reps with each move, on each hand.
