Suns Will Have Devin Booker Involved In All Major Team Decisions

Suns guard Devin Booker is one of the brightest young stars in the game. The 21-year-old is averaging a stellar 24.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game this season for Phoenix. In todays NBA, there is always the possibility of a young star like Devin leaving the franchise one day to be in a better position to win and build their brand in a bigger market. However, Booker has stated that he wants to be in Phoenix for the long haul. The Suns are also extremely excited about their future with the sharpshooter as their franchise player and they have already given him the keys to the franchise.

It was revealed this week that the Suns would consult with Booker on all major decisions regarding the team going forward. Some may say this is a lot of pressure for a 21-year-old, but, this is also the same guy who scored 70 points in a game against one of the best defensive teams in the league last season in Boston. He’s special. Via AZ Central:

“With his emergence and importance to not only what we’re doing in the short term but hopefully in the next decade-plus, I think it’s important to make him a partner in the process,” McDonough said.

“I know how much the city cares about the franchise, and that means a lot to me, playing somewhere where people actually care about the franchise,” Booker said. “I love it here, I bought a house here and I intend to be here for a long time.”
