Steph Curry Says Ray Allen Is The ‘Greatest Shooter Ever’

Stephen Curry is considered by many fans and experts as the greatest shooter in NBA history, but the two-time MVP actually considers newly retired Ray Allen as the best shooter in the history of the game.

Allen holds the NBA record for most 3-pointers made with 2,973, Curry is No.18 all-time with just over 1,600 made three-pointers in his career. The 28-year-old is expected to shatter all of Allen’s records by the time he is done playing the game, and has already set shooting milestones that may never be touched again. But, as of right now Curry considers Allen the G.O.A.T shooter simply because he did it the longest. Via ESPN:

“To me, he’s the greatest shooter ever because of his longevity,” Curry told ESPN of the future Hall of Famer’s career. “He did it year-to-year and he got up on his shot. That’s what made him different. He was a special player.”

Last week Curry became the fastest player to knock down 1,600 3-pointers, achieving the mark in 497 games. Allen previously held the record at 693 games. With good health, Curry, at 1,610 treys made, has a legitimate shot at surpassing Allen to become the all-time leader.

“He gives me something to shoot for,” Curry said to ESPN. “That’s a goal of mine.”
