Steph Curry Drops 40 Points on Opening Night

Stephen Curry is amazing.

The reigning NBA MVP picked up where he left off by electrifying the Bay Area after receiving his championship ring. Curry had Oracle buzzing as he went off for 24 points in the first quarter, matching what he scored in the entire game in last year’s season opener.

The Pelicans had no answer for Curry as he razzled and dazzled his way to 40 points and 7 assists. It was an exciting performance and he made a major statement with this one.

We spoke to Curry this past offseason (video below) about the Warriors already being counted out to repeat as NBA Champions and he kind of laughed about it. The ring ceremony certainly didn’t affect his play and he looked more hungry than ever as he reminded the world who the MVP was in the first game of the season.
