24/7-365. Basketball Lives Here.
History was made on June 25, 2015 as Satnam Singh Bhamara became the first Indian-born player to be drafted into the NBA. The Dallas Mavericks selected Satnam with the 52nd overall pick in Thursday’s draft.
Bhamara is from a small village in Punjab, India, he began playing the game just five years ago. The 7-foot-2 center is just 19-years old, moves well for his size, is strong, can hit the outside shot and obviously has a ton of potential.
It’ll be interesting to see where things go for Satnam from here. Mavs owner Mark Cuban was hyped on Twitter.
Welcome to the @dallasmavs Satnam Singh, the first Indian Born Player to be drafted ! Represent big guy. Represent !
