Although the OKC Thunder didn’t make the playoffs, one of the hottest stories of the sports year was Russell Westbrook’s dominance. The explosive guard had a career-year averaging a league best 28.1 points per game to go with 8.6 assists, 7.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals a night. Russ nearly led the broken down Thunder to the postseason and despite missing the playoffs, was so good that he was still in strong consideration for the MVP award right till the end of the season.
At one point in the season, Westbrook’s monster triple-double performance had us calling him the best player in the world. When it comes down to competition, Westbrook is down to go 1-on-5, so when NBA 2K announced a trio for the cover of 2K16, NBA Live responded by going with just one player, Russell Westbrook.
