Rudy Gay Signs 3-Year, $40 Million Extension With Kings

Kings forward Rudy Gay is posting career highs to start the season averaging 22.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.5 assists in 36.9 minutes per game. He also had a big 40 point game against the Trail Blazers earlier this year and has the Kings off to a good start.

During the preseason Gay told Ball Don’t Stop that he will have a big season as he has lost 15 pounds and it looks like he was right. Gay and the Kings reached an agreement on a contract extension over the weekend. Via ESPN:

The contract will pay Gay $40 million and includes an opt-out clause before the 2017-18 season, Yahoo! Sports first reported. Gay is currently in the final year of a contract that is paying him $19.3 million this season.
