REPORT: Sixers Will Pursue LeBron James In 2018

After years of dealing with injuries to their young stars, forcing them to delay “The Process”, the Sixers are finally looking like the playoff team everyone had envisioned them being when they drafted Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. With the best young core in the Eastern Conference, the Sixers will be a force in the league for years to come. However, to take another step and become a championship contender is now going to be the newest challenge in Philly and that will depend on how good Joel and Ben can pan out to be. Unless of course they land a big time free agent. With a clear culture shift taking place in the organization, the Sixers are now going to be able to make more presentable pitches to big name free agents. USA Today’s Jeff Zillgitt is reporting that Bryan Colangelo actually plans to pursue LeBron James if he decides to leave the Cavs. Can you imagine a big three of James, Simmons and Embiid? Now that would be straight up scary. ‬

If James, who can become a free agent after this season, decides to leave the Cavaliers, he could – and should – consider the 76ers, and executives around the league believe Sixers president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo will attempt to sign James.
