REPORT: Michael Beasley Working Out For Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are reportedly working out free agent forward Michael Beasley. The no.2 overall pick from the 2008 NBA Draft didn’t pan out to be what many expected him to, however, the potential is still very much there. Beasley, 25, averaged 7.9 points per game in 15 mpg for the Miami Heat last season.

Beasley has worked out for the Lakers this off-season but hasn’t been offered a contract yet. Could the Spurs save Beasley’s career, will he be able to buy into their system? This would definitely be an interesting signing.

Via Yahoo Sports:

Free-agent forward Michael Beasley is working out for the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs at the franchise’s practice facility this week, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Beasley has had several workouts for teams this summer, including two with the Los Angeles Lakers, but remains unsigned for the 2014-15 season.

The Spurs have 14 guaranteed contracts for next season, and so far, they haven’t been able to come to terms with restricted free agent Aron Baynes.
