REPORT: Lakers Are Shopping Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.

In effort to free up some salary for free agency, the Lakers are looking to trade away some players that have been a core part of their team over the past few years. With Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kozma locked in as three key pieces for their future, the Lakers are looking to trade Julius Randle, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. ahead of next months trade deadline according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. It is no secret that the Lakers want to land both LeBron James and Paul George this offseason and they know they’re going to need max money for both players in order to make a strong pitch, so this makes a lot of sense right now.

The Los Angeles Lakers, needing to shed salary for summer free agency, had been hopeful of waiting until the end of the season to move Jordan Clarkson — owed $26 million beyond this season — but there’s a mutual desire to find something sooner than later. The Lakers have made it clear that Clarkson, Julius Randle and Larry Nance are available.

Los Angeles has given up hope on unloading Luol Deng’s contract in a trade because it would simply necessitate attaching too many draft assets.
