After having the greatest regular season in NBA history, the Warriors suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Cavs in the 2016 NBA Finals. It leaves them with the question of what more could they have done? If going up 3-1 in the NBA Finals and just flat out looking like a better team wasn’t enough to prevent a meltdown, then what more can they do?
How about add a former MVP, four-time scoring champion and the man who’s team gave up a 3-1 series lead of their own to them in the Western Conference Finals.
Kevin Durant has the ability to change the entire complexion of the NBA this July, and reports are surfacing that his No.1 destination if he is to leave the Thunder is to join the Warriors. This move would put the Dubs in great position to win their second NBA title in three years. Via NY Daily News:
The one player who can change the balance of power in the NBA is expected to meet with prospective teams in Los Angeles when the free-agent recruiting period beings in July, according to a source. Durant had considered holding meetings in New York, but apparently has decided to hear proposals in Los Angeles, where he owns an off-season home.
The same source maintains that if Durant doesn’t re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder he would prefer to join the Warriors
