REPORT: Dwight Howard Interested in Joining the Knicks

Rockets big man Dwight Howard is expected to opt out of his contract this summer and become a free agent. Howard has been linked to trade rumors all year and is reportedly at odds with franchise player James Harden.

ESPN is reporting that Howard’s friends have put it out there that he’d be interested in joining the Knicks if he were to become a free agent.

Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is trying to bring more stars to New York and he has already made a pitch to Kevin Durant and Rajon Rondo. Could Dwight be enough to push Melo and the Knicks to the next level?

The Knicks will have at least $18 million to spend this offseason on a class that includes Kevin Durant and Al Horford…The big question is whether the Knicks, under Jackson, have a chance at landing one of the elite players on the market.

Along those lines, one name to keep in mind this summer is Dwight Howard.

Some of Howard’s friends have let it be known recently that the center would be interested in coming to New York as a free agent if he opts out of his current contract, league sources say.
