REPORT: Cavs Almost Landed Paul George and Carmelo Anthony

The Cleveland Cavaliers almost took superteam to new heights by nearly adding Paul George and Carmelo Anthony in a five-team deal. Apparently the deal fell apart because nobody wanted to take on Kevin Love’s big contract. This was reported on ESPN’s “Mason and Ireland” radio show.

“Speaking of big trades,” host John Ireland said. “There was a rumor that there was a five-team trade about to go down that would have put both Carmelo Anthony and Paul George into Cleveland and what held it up is that Kevin Love’s money was a problem for everybody. Nobody wanted to take that deal.”

“I kind of do, I kind of think Cleveland is…I think if they are able to swing something they’re probably swinging it, like a much smaller deal,” she replied.
