REPORT: Carmelo Anthony to Rockets Deal Expected to Be Done Next Week

Carmelo Anthony did not attend the Knicks pre-camp workouts this week and is not expected to join the team in next weeks training camp/media day. Melo and his camp are reportedly “optimistic” that he will be dealt to the Rockets by Monday. The pressure is on the Knicks to finally make the deal or else they would run into a serious media circus next week. A third team is expected to be involved to help the Rockets get the deal done. Via NY Daily News:

“Anthony’s camp is cautiously optimistic that a deal will be struck before Monday, and trying not to think about the potential media circus that will take place if Carmelo is still with the Knicks. Two weeks ago, Carmelo’s wife, La La, said the family thought a trade would have been completed by now.

Mentally, Carmelo and his family have moved on to Houston. Reality is another story. Hopefully, Mills and Perry will have the right answers when they address the media on Friday because the Carmelo issue isn’t going away until he goes away.”

Just wondering if the Bucks will be the 323rd team in the Melo trade. Houston gets Melo and filler players. Bucks get Anderson, O’Quinn & Lee & draft pick. Knicks get Monroe & Parker & filler player & draft picks.
