Ray Allen Officially Retires From the NBA

    Ray Allen has officially announced his retirement from the NBA. The 41-year-old played his final game in 2014, but had kept the door open for a potential comeback.

    The two-time NBA Champion penned a lengthy letter to the Players Tribune, looking back on his basketball journey and 18-year NBA career.

    I write this to you today as a 41-year-old man who is retiring from the game. I write to you as a man who is completely at peace with himself.

    One of the most versatile players of all-time, Allen’s game has had a major impact on the game of basketball. The all-time NBA 3-point leader was also a 10-time All-Star and hit one of the most clutch shots in NBA Finals history for the Heat in Game 6 of the 2013 Finals.

    Allen is expected to headline the 2019 Basketball Hall of Fame.
