Raptors Sign Bismack Biyombo to 2-Year, $6 Million Deal

After a poor showing against the Wizards in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, Raptors GM Masai Ujiri has made it a point to add some tough, hard-nosed players via free agency.

A few days after signing the “Junkyard Dog” DeMarre Carroll, the Raptors sign 6-foot-9 forward Bismack Biyombo. The 22-year old is known for his high-flying days, but his value lies in his physicality.

Biyombo joins forward DeMarre Carroll as the second free agent to agree to a deal with the Raptors this week. Together, Biyombo and Carroll – who agreed to a four-year, $64 million deal – are expected to play a part in reshaping the Raptors’ defense next season.

Toronto general manager Masai Ujiri and coach Dwane Casey want a tougher, more physical roster.
