Orlando Magic Release Hedo Turkoglu

The Orlando Magic have waived Hedo Turkoglu and have saved $6 million by doing it, Turkoglu was the NBA’s Most Improved Player in 2008 and appeared in the NBA Finals in 2010. Turkoglu has career averages of 11.9 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 3.1 APG, he is now a free agent and is only interested in offers from NBA teams. Turkoglu confirmed his release on Twitter.

As per Sports Illustrated:

The Magic announced Friday the release of Hedo Turkoglu, who hadn’t suited up for the team this season. He will become an unrestricted free agent once he clears waivers.

Turkoglu, 34, was on the books for $12 million this season, but only $6 million was guaranteed. By releasing the 34-year-old Turkish forward prior to a Jan. 7 deadline, Orlando avoided paying the remaining $6 million.
