Nate Robinson was making his first start of the season Wednesday against the Charlotte Bobcats and was injured mid-way through the first quarter. The Denver Nuggets announced today that Nate Robinson is out for tonight’s game against the Toronto Raptors. An MRI revealed that Robinson sprained his ACL and Nate had surgery tonight.

The Denver Post reported that Robinson is out for the season. Ouch! Hate to see Nate go down like this, knowing him he will be back stronger and better then ever.

Denver Nuggets guard Nate Robinson has been ruled out of Friday’s game against the Toronto Raptors after an MRI Thursday revealed a sprained anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Robinson, averaging 10.4 points and 2.5 assists in 44 games this season, will be evaluated again Friday to determine a course of treatment.

“When they’ve gathered as much information as they can gather, we’ll go from there,” Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said. “It’s probably safe to say he’ll miss some time.”

Robinson was injured midway through the first quarter of Denver’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday. He was making his first start of the season in place of injured point guard Ty Lawson.

“The way he’s built, I know he’s going to come back this year,” Denver guard Randy Foye said of Robinson. “He’s extremely confident and an extremely strong person, and I just know he’s going to come back and help us.”
