Metta World Peace Says He Is Friends With Man Who Sparked Brawl in Detroit

Yesterday was the ten year anniversary of one of the darkest days in NBA history. On November 19th, 2004, Pacers forward Ron Artest who now goes by the name Metta World Peace was shoved by Pistons big man Ben Wallace after a hard foul. Artest was held back by his teammates and assistant coaches as he lay on the scores table along the sideline, all hell broke loose when a fan threw a beer at Artest, that fan sparked what is known as “The Malice In The Palace”, the biggest brawl in NBA history. Players were in the stands fighting fans, there was chaos on the court, it was out of control, the game was cancelled on the spot. This brawl changed the NBA forever.

Ten years later, the league has come such a long way, something like this would never happen in today’s NBA. Metta World Peace, aka “Panda’s Friend” reveals that he is now close friends with the guy that threw the beer cup at him.
