Magic Trade Serge Ibaka to Raptors for Terrence Ross

A big move went down in the NBA today as the Raptors acquired Magic forward Serge Ibaka in exchange for guard Terrence Ross and a 2017 first round pick. The Raptors needed a player like Ibaka to take over their front court which is currently led by Patrick Patterson and Jared Sullinger.

The 27-year-old is averaging 15.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.6 blocks per game and will be bring some much-needed aggressiveness a presence down low. Ross, who is averaging 10.4 points per game this season, thanked the city that drafted him an emotional tweet once he learned was traded.

The Raptors have themselves a mini-big three now and will be trying to build around it for years to come. Masai Ujiri wants to sign Ibaka when he becomes a free agent this summer.
