LeBron James: Teams Don’t Have To Win the NBA Title to Be Considered Great

LeBron James was watching Game 7 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers during #ShaqWeek on NBA TV and was amazed at the level of ball back then.

The King marvelled at how great the Blazers were and was recorded on his Bleacher Report’s uninterrupted basically saying that a team doesn’t have to win an NBA Championship to be considered great.

He’s right about that one. As a matter of fact, his opinion matters more than anyone else’s because he’s one of the all-time greats and a two-time NBA Champion.

LeBron also said he wished he played in those 2000 Western Conference Finals. Via Bleacher Report:

“The lineups on the floor right now — there’s so many great players in this game it’s ridiculous. … I wish I played in the Western Conference right there and then, man,” James said. “This is top-of-the-line ballplaying.”
