LeBron James posted a photo with his good friend and (former?) teammate Tristan Thompson with a caption that reads “Get it done!!!! Straight up.”
This was obviously a tweet directed at the Cavs management which removed all of Thompson’s photos and merchandise from their website after he declined their $6.8 million qualifying offer this past week.
The interesting thing about this whole situation is Thompson is basically apart of LeBron’s agency and is represented by James good friend Rich Paul. The goal for Paul and James agency is obviously to give their athlete’s the best experience and earn them the most money. One of their selling points and especially in this situation is that James has a lot of power in the NBA, but more specifically in the Cavs front office moves.
As of right now Thompson is holding out from the Cavs and has not been at training camp. By sending this message, Paul’s agency is basically saying give our guy the money he wants (nearly a max deal) and everyone, especially James will be happy. This could also mean they are serious about parting ways in order for Thompson to earn more money elsewhere.
