Knicks Shut Carmelo Anthony Down For The Season

The 10-43 New York Knicks have officially shut Carmelo Anthony down for the season. This has been the toughest season of Anthony’s career. After passing on contending teams such as the Mavericks, Rockets and Bulls in free agency, Anthony went onto play 40 games for a disastrous Knicks team and averaged 24.2 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 44 percent from the field.

Melo has been scrutinized heavily for passing up on championship contending teams to stay in New York for what many believe was because of the massive contract he received.

Knicks president Phil Jackson revealed that Anthony could be out for 4-6 months. The Zen Master will have to make some major moves this offseason in order to bring Melo back in high spirits.

The New York Knickerbockers announced today that Carmelo Anthony will have season-ending left knee surgery. The procedure, which will be performed by Team Orthopedist Dr. Answorth Allen, includes a left knee patella tendon debridement and repair.
