Klay Thompson Signs 4-Year, $70 Million Contract Extension With Warriors

The Golden State Warriors beat the 9 pm deadline to extend guard Klay Thompson’s contract. For months now Thompson’s future with the Warriors had been uncertain, he was heavily involved in trade rumors early in the off-season and many were not sure if he would get the max contract he was seeking.

Well on Friday night, the Warriors and Thompson agreed to a 4-year, $70 million max contract extension. Via NBA.com:

The Warriors signed Thompson to a four-year maximum contract extension worth about $70 million on Friday, a person with knowledge of the deal said.
The person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the team does not disclose terms, also said there is no opt-out clause for either side. The contract will keep Thompson with the team through the 2018-19 season.
