Kevin Durant had one of the best individual seasons in NBA history in 2013-14 when he was named the MVP of the league. That postseason the Thunder were eliminated by the eventual NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs in six games and it took Durant’s fire to another level.
KD went hard that offseason and was fully prepared to repeat as the MVP and lead the Thunder to an NBA Championship. However, a foot injury derailed his 2014-15 season and he ended up playing in just 27 games. Though he looked better than ever in all 27 of his appearances, Durant just couldn’t stay on the floor due to his foot.
Forced to watch LeBron reach the NBA Finals again and Steph Curry emerge as one of the top stars in the world while taking his MVP award in the process, Durant admitted this summer that he did get jealous but he also made it clear to us at the USA Basketball Training Camp that he feels he is the best player in the world.
While on a promotional tour for the Nike KD8 in Europe, Durant gave his opinion on who he thinks the top five players of all-time are and now he’s making headlines again as he confidently tells fans at a House of Hoops that he is still the best player in the world.
