Kevin Durant: ‘I Made The Game-Winning Shot Against My Idol In The F**king Finals’ + Says He and LeBron Are Equal

In GQ’s latest “Champion of the Year” edition, Kevin Durant opened up about winning the 2017 NBA Championship and having the best series of his career against his rival LeBron James. Durant admits that he can learn a thing or two from Bron off the court, but as far as on court goes he thinks he’s right on the same level. Via GQ:

“He’s four years older than me, so he’s still the big homie. But I’m on the same level as a basketball player. Off the court, I can learn a thing from you. But as a basketball player, I feel like it’s 1A, 1B. And that’s an accomplishment for me.”

KD also explains how his cold-blooded game winning three against the Cavs in Game 3 of the Finals over James felt like a passing of the torch.

“That was the best moment I ever had…I made the game-winning shot in the finals against my fucking idol. Somebody that I really, really, really followed since I was a ninth-grade high schooler. I felt like he was passing the torch to me.”
