Jahlil Okafor Traded to the Nets

Jahlil Okafor will finally get to play the game he loves again. After awkwardly falling out of the Sixers new rotation, the third pick in the 2015 NBA Draft found himself sitting on the bench for almost all of the Sixers games this season. After averaging 17.5 points and 7 rebounds in 30 mpg in his rookie year, Okafor’s minutes dipped to 22 per game in his sophmore season with return of Joel Embiid and this year with the return of Ben Simmons, he found himself on the floor in just two games.

Okafor will now get the fresh start he wanted and needed in Brooklyn. The Sixers will receive Trevor Booker in exchange for Okafor, Nik Stauskas and a 2nd round pick. Via Yahoo Sports:

The Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to trade former No. 3 overall pick Jahlil Okafor to the Brooklyn Nets, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Nets will send forward Trevor Booker to the 76ers for Okafor, guard Nik Stauskas and a 2019 second-round pick from the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo Sports. The Nets will release guard Sean Kilpatrick to create roster space for the trade, league sources said.
