Doc Rivers Releived Of Front Office Role With Clippers

Doc Rivers had quite the control over the Clippers moves over the past few years since he was also the president of basketball operations for the squad. Doc’s role created a lot of behind the scene heat within the Clipper organization over the past year and is one of the reasons Chris Paul left to Houston. CP3’s perception was that Rivers was protecting his son Austin by refusing to trade him for Carmelo Anthony when he had the chance.

You can expect some roster changes to still be made now in LA as the Clippers announced today that Rivers will no longer oversee basketball operations. Via ESPN:

Rivers, who held the title of president of basketball operations, will continue to have a strong voice in personnel and organizational matters and will partner with Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank, Ballmer told ESPN.
Frank will now oversee basketball operations, including the general manager.
