Derrick Rose Officially Signs With Cavs

In the midst of all the Kyrie Irving controversy, 2011 MVP Derrick Rose has officially signed with the Cavs. Since his injury in 2012, Rose had his best statistical season, averaging 18.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game in a messy situation in New York.

The 28-year-old signed a veterans minimum of $2.1 million and will be starting and playing heavy minutes for a Cavs team that is expected to go back to the NBA Finals in 2018. Via

“We are very excited to be able to add a player of Derrick’s caliber and experience to the team,” said Altman. “Derrick could have gone to a number of other teams, but his specific mindset, goals and total focus and commitment to winning are what resulted in him signing with the Cavaliers. We are confident he will be a very good fit with our organization and we look forward to the many ways he will contribute to the team.”
