The Blazers got the win they needed in LA on Wednesday and were looking to close the series back on their home floor in Game 6 on Friday. Damian Lillard, hungry as ever, came out firing and carried his squad to the clutch 106-103 win over a Clippers team that refused to back down.
Lillard, who has been on quite a mission since his All-Star snub, finished the game with 28 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. His backcourt mate CJ McCollum added 20 points and nailed a clutch 3-pointer in the final minute to seal the game and series for Portland.
The Blazers are set to take on the Warriors in the Western Conference Semi-Finals, who will most likely be without Steph Curry for the first two games of the series. Fresh off the All-Star snub, the Warriors felt Lillard’s wrath as he exploded for a season-high 51 points and handed the Dubs one of their nine losses on the season back in February.
