Since his snub from the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, Damian Lillard has been playing on another level in what was already the best individual season of his career.
On Friday, the Blazers were in Toronto, somewhere many fans and players felt that Lillard should have been last month during the All-Star Weekend. Just three weeks removed from his 51-point explosion against Steph Curry and the Warriors, Lillard erupted for 50 points on the Raptors.
Though it wasn’t enough for the win, the Oakland-native nearly brought the Blazers back from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter. In one of the most electrifying individual performances of the season, Lillard joined Steph Curry as the only players to have two 50 point games this season.
Dame was 16-of-28 from the field, including 6-of-13 from beyond the arc. He also nailed one of his signature deep 3-pointers in this one. Toronto was buzzing.
Check out our interview with Damian from the week before All-Star reserves were announced in which he talked about what was then a potential snub.
