Basketball fans all over the world were treated with quite the gift on Christmas Day when the Cavs and Warriors went at it in an NBA Finals rematch. In what was Kevin Durant’s first game against LeBron James, as a member of the Warriors, the two went at it in a X-Mas duel that will remembered for years to come. This exact matchup is why the Warriors signed Durant this past summer, to lead them past the Cavs. KD went off for 17 first half points and led the way for the Warriors, helping them earn a 14-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. But, a furious Cavs run led by Kyrie Irving and LeBron James put the Cavs back in the game and swung the momentum in their favor during the most clutch stages of the game and ultimately led them to the win.
LeBron finished the game with 31 points, 13 rebounds and some crucial plays in the fourth quarter. Durant’s 36 points and 15 rebounds ended up not being enough for the revenge-seeking Warriors.
