Just a day after the NBA trade deadline, the Boston Celtics waived forward David Lee.
This was a move that was expected for over a month now as the Celtics were trying to get rid of Lee via trade due to his big contract. According to Yahoo Sports, the Dallas Mavericks are heavy favorites to sign the former All-Star. Via Yahoo Sports:
Lee, a two-time All-Star, was bought out by the Celtics on Friday and has said he will seek a winning situation in which he could receive a rotation role.
The Mavericks are in the process of deciding which player could be waived to create a roster spot, league sources said. Lee would provide the Mavericks with reserve scoring behind Dirk Nowitzki.
