Carmelo Anthony Leaving NY? Interested in Clippers, Lakers and Bulls!

The New York Knicks had high hopes when they traded for Carmelo Anthony three seasons ago, it just hasn’t worked out. Carmelo Anthony’s legacy has started to take a hit, he hasn’t had much playoff success and the three other guys (LeBron, Wade and Bosh) from the draft in which he was at one point considered the top player coming in have all won NBA Championships. Melo knows his window is closing.

The New York Knicks have got off to a disastrous start to the 2013-14 season, they are second last in the NBA with a record of 9-21 and there are reports that Carmelo is done in New York. According to Melo’s old teammate he thinks that Anthony will be leaving the Knicks for sure.

 Report via NY Daily News:

Carmelo Anthony’s former teammate needed just a few seconds to ponder the question and deliver a definitive answer.

“I think he’s leaving. I’ve played with Melo for a long time and he knows he can’t win here. At this stage, all he wants to do is win. That’s why he’ll leave.”

Another report has revealed Carmelo Anthony’s short wishlist. Apparently he wants to play in Los Angeles for the Clippers or Laker and he is also interested in playing in Chicago alongside Derrick Rose and the Bulls. As of now there is a high chance the Melo is leaving the Knicks in July.

As per the New York Post:

Anthony doesn’t want to be a poster boy if the Knicks spiral into a losing era, and it could influence his thinking when he makes his decision come July. Though still undecided, there’s part of him that may want to bail if he thinks the Knicks’ ship completely sinks. He does not want to be the scapegoat.

Anthony wants to play for a winner, but desperately wants to play in a big market because of his business ventures — his Jordan Brand sneaker line, his PowerCoco energy drink, his watch deal.

That is why New York, Los Angeles, where he has a home, and even Chicago are on his short list, according to a source. The source said the Clippers — with buddy Chris Paul — are more attractive than the Lakers, though the purple-and-gold have cap space and the Clips don’t.
