Carmelo Anthony on Atlanta Hawks: ‘Aint Nobody Would Want To Go There’

The Atlanta Hawks organization is under fire this week after racist comments being made by Hawks management and ownership were revealed. Danny Ferry’s phone call conversation with Hawks management discussing then-free agent Luol Deng was obtained a few days ago and it was clear that Ferry wasn’t reading a scouting report, he was saying those things on his own.

Carmelo Anthony weighed in on the whole situation in Atlanta and he believes that the Hawks organization has taken a big hit. Melo says it will be hard for Atlanta to land big name free agents in the future. Via ESPN New York:

“[There] ain’t nobody [who] would want to go there,” Anthony said Saturday at the Citi Carmelo Anthony Basketball camp in Manhattan. “At the end of the day, Atlanta, I think it puts Atlanta back even further now, from that standpoint.

“Atlanta is a great city, a great market, great people, great atmosphere. But as far as the comments [that] were made, I think it was uncalled for. From an owner, from a GM, those are not things you play with.”
