Buddy Hield Scores 46 Points vs Kansas

Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield went off for 46 points in a triple-OT thriller against the No.1 ranked Kansas Jayhawks last night. Surprisingly his 46 points were not enough to win the game, but man did the kid get some serious respect for his showing.

Following the game legendary commentator Dick Vitale gave him a handshake and had some good words for him, Jayhawks fans also stuck around to give Hield a standing ovation as he left the arena.

Hields had 8 rebounds and 7 assists to go with the 46 points. This is the most points any player has scored in any of the 40 matchup’s between the No.1 and No.2 ranked teams.

Did you even watch that game? Oklahoma played far too undisciplined to win. Hield was among the worst offenders. I totally get that he has a good FG% and is a good shooter, but he just took too many isolations that resulted in his misses. He should have been shooting around 75 with a dozen assists, but instead he wound up with a loss. Great individual player, but needs to work on making others around him better–or just transfer to Kentucky.
